BROKE DOGS
This group of dogs are gun-broke and
ready to hunt. They have been shot over since weaning age, carefully
taught to come when called, and most are retrieving shot birds. Their
range is described. These dogs
have had another summer training in North Dakota. They have been
exposed to loads of wild pheasant and prairie chicken. They are currently
being hunted in both South and West Texas on wild quail. These dogs point,
back (honor) and retrieve!

MIKIE English Setter male, white & orange, whelped June 24, 2006:
CH The Catalyst & Grouse Ridge
bloodlines. His range is close to medium - fully broke gun
dog with great style running and pointing. He backs on sight
another dog's point. Loves to retrieve. He's one of the top
bird finders on quail and pheasant. I'm using him as a lead dog in
workouts to teach other dogs backing. He's steady to wing and shot
at the end of his second North Dakota season. |
