Breeding Stock - 0ur breeding stock are all direct descendants of some of the finest bird hunting dogs that America has to offer, and are, themselves, accomplished and skilled bird hunters.

OUR BREEDING STOCK

This group of dogs are our 'stock-in-trade'. so to speak. They are all prime dogs from some of the finest bloodlines in the US. All are excellent hunters with years of field experience. The pups these dogs whelp are second-to-none and are well known and respected in the world of bird hunting dogs.

GATEWAY TWIN FIDDLES

Our premier prepotent sire, Gateway Twin Fiddles (aka "Mike") is double Go Boy's Shadow bred and a full younger brother to American Field Dog Stud Book HALL OF FAME CH. Joe Shadow. "Mike" has a record of producing high-styled, classy pups that point early and break-out early. "Mike's" pups are highly biddable and sweet-natured, making the perfect combination of hunter, competitor, and family member.

'Buddy' is a prepotent sire that is strong in Ch. Hook's Bounty Hunter and Ch. Guard Rail bloodlines. His field trial record carries 5 championships on wild birds - Sharptail Grouse and Pheasants. Hall of Fame breeder, Bob Wehle, out-crossed his famous Elhew Pointers to noted field champions to strengthen their noted genes with stamina and endurance. Two of the sires he selected were Ch. Hook's Bounty Hunter and Ch. Guard Rail. Our 'Buddy' is a result of Mr. Wehle's genius. He is carrying on the tradition and nicks very well with our Ch. Joe Shadow bloodlines.

	TOMMY (Two Acre Tommygun) 5 year old English Pointer Male Sire: Ch. Front 'N Center Dam: Dancing Queen Fully trained - points, backs and retrieves. Experienced on Ruffed Grouse, Woodcock, Sharp-tail Grouse, Pheasants and Quail. One of the finest gun dogs in America, his range is 150-200 yards. He has been hunted extensively for the last 4 years in the string of a professional hunting guide in South Texas. Tommy's photo illustrates his signature style on point - head up and ramrod-straight tail - and he passes this on to his pups.

	ROWDY Rowdy White Tank This big (55 lb) liver & white, rugged Elhew pointer is a bird hunter's dream. His wide range and determination to find birds make him the top covey finder in our guiding string. He was a natural since the first day of training and then - he got better! His individuality and strong Elhew - Hook's Bounty Hunter bloodlines make him a top choice as a sire. He'll be bred to a few select gun dogs this spring to get South Texas covey dogs.

	JACK Our latest acquisition to the stud-dog list is Big Jack, a line bred Elhew dog whose strong-point is finding wild coveys. He's been in the string of one of the best Outfitters in South Texas - Ancestral home of the Rio Grande Bobwhite. Jack is a rugged, 55 lb, bird-finding machine and was a mainstay in his guiding string. He's a 200 yard quartering vacuum sweeper of a covey dog who runs out-front of the ATV and finds 80% of the coveys. We plan to use him in our effort to produce tough, South Texas guide dogs.

German Shorthaired Pointer

	DUDE Sax Man A registered 5 year old German Shorthair Pointer, he is an outstanding covey finder and has plenty of range in front of an ATV or afoot. His usual range is medium-wide (100-150 yards). So, compared to many Shorthairs, he runs plenty big. Add to this his ability to find coveys and singles, and his backing on sight. His retrieving is first-class, often showing up with a dead bird that nobody realized they hit. He's a top dog for any string. He currently has a beautiful litter by our Tinkerbelle that are available. Price: $250 - 500 Ea.

Her range is closer, up to 100 yards. She is the ultimate foot-hunting dog - ideal for a shooting preserve or ATV work in South Texas.

	ROSE (Two Acre Black Rose) 5 year old English Pointer Female Sire: Ch. Front 'N Center Dam: Dancing Queen Rose is a classy covey-finder, ideally suited to ATV hunting. Her range is 100-200 yards. Her strongest point is her great bird-finding ability. In addition, she'll back on sight and likes to retrieve. Rose has been trained on Ruffed Grouse, Pheasants, Sharp-tail Grouse and on both wild and released Quail. She has been ranked as the top bird-finder in the shooting string of a South Texas Quail guide.

	ANGEL (Peregrine's Angel) FDSB Registered English Setter Female, Orange and solid White,Whelped 2004, Her breeding is Ch Tekoa Mountain Sunrise and Ch Tomoka bloodlines. Angel is a close-to-medium-range, bird finding, foot hunting dog. She’s been hunted on wild Quail in west Texas and on wild Pheasant in North Dakota. At 6 years old, she has tons of field experience and is the perfect dog for the serious bird hunter who hunts afoot.

	Jenny (Peregrine's Jenny) FDSB Registered English Setter Female, Orange and solid White and ticked- Whelped 2005, Her breeding is Cactus Jet Rex; ex Cactus Jet Groovy (NBHA Region 7 Dog of the year for 2009) Jenny is a close-to-medium-range, bird finding, foot hunting dog. She’s been trained on wild Pheasant in North Dakota and is steady to wing and shot. At 5 years old, she has tons of field experience and is the perfect dog for the serious bird hunter who hunts afoot. She also has potential range to make an amateur horseback shooting dog for field trials. She is currently bred to a great, young Derby dog named Rocky Knoll Jackson.
